Jamie Sherman
Jamie Sherman, Hamilton born and raised, is known for his modern art glass. Intrigued by old blown glass forms and processes, he has developed three early Canadian reproductions for the Royal Ontario Museum. His sculptures grace many private and corporate collections.
As the grandson of one of Dofasco’s founding fathers, Jamie could have followed in his family’s industrial footsteps, but rather, he became a self-taught artist, photographer, glass blower and musician.
Beckett Fine Art is thrilled to be reunited with long-time friend and associate, Jamie, and to bring these special pieces to our clients. Jamie first showed at Beckett in 1982 which in his words, “ignited” his highly successful career. Jamie has taken a pause in his craft, and as such, these glassworks, being show for the first time, are rare indeed.
